Center/ A/C console light?

I recently aquired my 96 xj Sport w/ A/C, and noticed that the A/C panel does not light up at all. Is this because I have a bulb/fuse out, or is there just not a light in it? Also, does anyone have a fuse diagram for a '96? I've found diagrams online but none seem to exactly match my layouts.
