Default cb mounting

I just bought a 99 cherokee and trying to figure out where to mount the cb. Any ideas or pictures of how you mount your cb in your cherokee.

Have mine mounted on the right side of the shifter column.

I took out the ashtray...same as you would to empty it out. I mounted the " |__|" bracket to the back of the ashtray area. I have a 5spd and the shifter does not hit the CB. I can not comment on what it would be like an auto..My external speaker is mounted on the pass side of the console tucked up under the dash

EDIT: I'll snap a pik this evening

Since my XJ came sans the center console I made my own.... more cup holders than console but thought it was a great place to mount the CB.

I put mine above the rear-view mirror, as it was small enough to fit and the bolt spacing on the mounting bracket was the same as the door opener reciever thing (if you have one of those). It's out of the way and I don't have to look to far away from the road to see it while I'm driving.

I'll try to post some pics of it tomorrow.

Here mine The big radio is the CB (and HF ham radio) the small radio is 2meter/440 ham detachable face (velcro'ed on to the big radio). The radio for that is mounted in the rear and external speaker is mounted under drivers side dash...out of site.

Hey Jonny, Where do you have the Mic mounted at? Is it just draped? I'm going to mount mine here, but I can't figure a 'realistic' place where it would be out of the way.
