Cat-Back?
k so my muffler has got a bit of a leak and its gunna need to be replaced pretty soon. i've got two options: use the new Magnaflo muffler i got at a swap meet or i could go for a full cat-back system. Any suggestions?
I'm lookin for a deep, tough sound but i dont want it to be so loud that it wakes up my parents when i pull in the driveway 2 hours after my curfew. Also, i dont wanna be spending too much money kuz i've already got a lift and tires planned too. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks alot. Jesse J. |
Use the muffler you have and goto a shop and have em make you a nice tail pipe section. All a cat back system is is a muffler and tail pipe..

dont waste money on a cat back system. If you can do it your self then do it. I just two weeks ago did my own. Went to NAPA and bought down pipe, O2 sensor, and tail pipe. I got a High Magnaflow High Flow cat from Quadratec, and a Hooker muffler. Great sound not to loud and running real smooth. All for under the coast of some cat back systems. 300 bucks just about.

i got rid of my tail pipe along time ago... i ran a cherry bomb w/ a tail pipe, sounded ok. turbo muffler, way quiet, didnt like it. super 44 flowmaster into a dump, was load. my buddy said it was almost deafening when he was moving some rocks around my rear tire:D the regular 40 series flowmaster isnt as loud, but the sound is still there. i am running a cherry bomb now just into a dump, and the droning is starting to annoy me. im thinkin about a new tailpipe, but i dont have the room where i want to run it so im stuck for awile
