Default Carbon Canister--WTF is it?

Where does the carbon canister hook up to and what does it even do? I'm assuming my carbon canister is the medium sized black oblong canister that was bracketed on to my front bumper. When I went to take it off to repair my bumper I noticed the tubing wasn't connected to anything and I couldnt find anywhere it would go. Can anyone help me with this?

That is the 'Jeep Egg'. It's actually a vacuum canister. Tubing runs....to a couple of places. It stores a vacuum for allowing your fan controls to switch from defrost to vent, and so forth. Think it also does the same thing for another funtion or two, but I can't remember what they are off the top of my head.

Carbon canister should be mounted to the underside of the Jeep back in front of the gas tank. Being a 94, not sure if yours would have one or not...they are used for emissions.

Its the vacuum canister. Allows you to use cruise control, defroster, and a few other odds and ends.

Maybe that's why my cruise control doesnt work? My defroster seems to work though...at least the heat does.

Heat is default, you need vacuum to use the vents and defrost. Coach

if its an egg, its vacuum.

if its the actual charcoal canister like a cylinder with with a flat top and bottom, it is part of your emissions and catches fuel vapor.
