I also see that it shows in stock at both Advance and O'Reilly's. You're going to have to go in the store, go to the aisle with the fuses and look for it. It's there. You can't count on counter idiots on the phone to find what you need. They have no motivation.

First time I hear someone going to a junk yard for a fuse!!!
|
Yeah even places like lowes and Home Depot (at least around me here) have those kind of fuses.

That is a circuit breaker (for the windshield wipers), not a fuse. 5.5 amp breakers are not readily available and I sure enough don't think you are going to find one at Lowes or Home Depot. Follow Lowrange2's advice.

I agree that a fuse and a circuit breaker serve the same purpose: to protect an electrical circuit. If you want to refer to a circuit breaker as a fuse, that is your business and none of my own. If your picture was just to show mounting options, the link in post #5 does that.
However, they are not the same and it is confusing to refer to them both as "fuses". You will find both circuit breakers and fuses at Home Depot but I do not think you will find a 5 amp automotive circuit breaker of the type that the OP is searching for there. If you do, great news and I stand corrected. |
1 Attachment(s)
The problem with the older AMC breaker is it uses a wider spacing than the blade fuses and the more common circuit breakers readily available in most auto parts stores.
It is more like an older ford breaker. .. and that may be n easier way to find one ( pick a year in the 70's or earlier) I had t do a work around when my wipers went out in a rain storm on the way to work. .. the stock circuit breaker literally fell apart. Attachment 320404 Simple and effective. 2x male spades, 2x female spades, and some wire. Got me home and still there, since the PO butchered the fuse panel. And yes, I did change it out for a much lower amp breaker since the picture was taken. All the only store that was still open had was those. |
Found the fuse went to the dealership found out its 30 bucks **** and it only exist, for thus model

This is a frustrating forum to figure out. I'm looking for the front wiper relay circuit breaker or? My 93 cherokee country fuse box is different, I know it's a 4.5 amp breaker but the lower CB is for the blower motor for heat and the one on the left center is a 30amp CB. any help? I've made a jumper with a 5amp fuse since I can't find the CB. Thanks so much. It's January in Mid Michigan and yeah kinda need it. Thanks so much bud. |
