Can I replace my axle shafts with any year?

I have a 2000 XJ with dana 30 low pinion. 27 spline. No ABS. Can I pull an axle shaft from any year?

I started pulling apart my XJ this morning to change out the balljoints and noticed my axle shaft ujoints were pretty bad too. Took both shafts down to Big O and had them press some new one in but said they couldn't do the driver's side because one of the ears was bent. I'm going to the jy tomorrow to look for a used one.

need another low pinion im sure but im pretty sure the 30's all had the same spline count... you will need one from a non-disco front axle...

also make double sure the axle joints are the same size... some had smaller or larger depending on models or ABS and such... just double check....

Any 95+ or ABS axleshaft will be the same ujoint as you have on the other side. You can knock the ABS tone ring off or just leave it..
