if you dont wheel it id say yes, the reason being because if you were to wheel the shocks would have less uptravel without a lift and therefore can bottom out, ask me how i know

well, i was hoping you would ask

i bought a pair of axles that had raised shock mounts on them (shaved rear shock mount bracket and raised the bracket up level with the axle tube, therefore about 2-3 inches or so we'll say.) i have shocks for a 5.5 lift, which were then too long seeing how the longer shocks compensate for the distance from the shock mount to the body after the jeep is lifted. well now that this shock mount is closer to the body, the shocks are too long. so when they bottom out, they spray the oil out everywhere and i basically blew them up.

all good though i gota replacement set for 70 bucks

standard height shocks on the lift would decrease downtravel yes, when are you planning on lifting? id say throw them on if your doing ONLY street driving if your getting a good deal on them

and usually any lift kit you buy comes with shocks
