Can a 1998 cherokee transmission be used in a 1991 cherokee laredo

Both are 4x4 and automatics...

I don't think so as the output shaft versus vehicle speed sensors work differently.

Engine: I6 4.0L

I was going to but a 91 tranny in a 99 and I couldn't because the wiring harness had a different amount of prongs on each one
