Caliper seized :(
 

Damn, front right caliper seized on the ride to the office. TONS of smoke but the old 4.0 had np pushing though it ;)

Tell me if this is a fair deal from the local shop

Full front brake job both sides

No, its way over priced. Brakes are easy, especially disc brakes. Buy the parts and DIY.

Even with new calipers and bleeding the brakes which I do not know how to do?

looks typical of a brake place, replace everything in the front and then get to the back and say everything needs to be replaced there too. Then the magic number is $1000, the cherokee is a gem cause the model years are all similar if not the same for long periods of time= cheap parts. I replaced both rotors and pads recently for like $85 rotors are like $25each and pads are $23. I just checked autozone and there $20 there for calipers. You can save yourself like $450 and it will only take a hour per side.

I looked up parts

Pads - 60 (2)
Rotors - 100 (2)
Calipers - 75 (2)
Hoses - 80 (2)

Parts $315
$185 for labor is not awful.

You are assuming that you need all of those parts.
Hoses? Unless they are in really poor condition they don't need to be replaced.

Shop around and get better prics.

If you just don't like wrenching or have no desire to to learn how to repair your own rig, I understand. But if you want to save some money and learn about your rig in the process then grab your tools and get busy.

great job searching for parts, you only need one set of pads, and the cheapies are the quietest, $23 all day, your rotors are not $50 a piece they are $25 I just bought some and calipers are $20 I just checked. Why do you need brake lines are they leaking? Trying to help, spend the money I guess?

Hoses have 160k on them so they are pretty bad. I would like to shop around but I cannot drive the heep any further and it is already at this shop.

I do a lot of stuff myself but never brakes. I just did a window regulator on it and that was fun.

I have AAA but no time to have it towed around trying to save a few bucks and I am sure any other shop is going to be the same price give or take :(

LOL I just wanted to make sure I was not getting totally screwed. I bet Midas would have been 1000 easy.
