In Cab Roll Bar - Cheap
Has anyone purchased/installed the Rusty's single loop inside cab roll bar. I know its not the best, but its gotta be better than nothing! Any suggestions? See it at http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...gory_Code=ROLL
I know I need to put something in to save driver and one passenger - just in case of roll over!
Suggestions?

Personally it seems expensive and that the money spent on this could be used to have a local person/shop do it. You would still have weld it in either way. I also think that an a pillar support is needed to trully protect you

NOTE: This product is designed to help protect in case of a roll over or side impact but is sold as a show bar, it is no substitute for safe and responsible driving. Always wear your seat belt, know the terrain, speed limitations, and any obstacles that may lay ahead.
the unbold, italic, underlined text makes me think that you could have someone make you a custom one for cheaper, and perform better.

Keep in mind:
Most roll bars are designed to tie into the frame somehow.
BUT
XJ's being unibody construction, you will have to fabricate something to try and tie into the unibody substructure. Otherwise, you are just bolting it to the sheet metal floor...not very safe.----->>Showbar.
I believe this is why alot of Xj's end up with exo-cages

well. Its the windshield pillors that always fold in on the driver and passenger. Take a look at Rock Hard Products for their bolt in cage kits. look really good and they have letters from customers that have 'field tested' the cages and are happy with the outcomes.
