A/C bypass

1998 4.0 a/c compressor clutch bearing is toast, can I bypass a/c with an alternate "without a/c" belt. I haven't been able to find an a/c bypass pulley for this year. Need a cheap fix

Check at Autozone. I found one for a 91'. Just have to talk to the right guy there. Some of those guys are idiots. It was about $60.00 for bracket and pulley to replace compressor.

You cant bypass with a shorter belt!!! With out doing some mods, I just tried a 79" 790 k6. the belt routing diagram autozone gave me showed that it would work, only to get home and see that infact it wont.
