Check to see if you have power at the low pressure switch on top of your accumilator (should be located right below your conpressor if renix era). Unplug it turn your ac on and check for power. If so plug it back up and check if you have power running through the switch. If not you could be out/low on refrigerant.

I only have the one plug going to the compressor and it has no power with a/c turned on. it shouldn't be low, just had it serviced at the start of summer.

Id still check to see if you have power coming to the plug. It may not be low, but if you dont have power there it can help narrow things down.

There are two wires coming out of the switch. You'll need to probe the wires(sewing needles work well and are cheap). Switch your handy multi meter to ohms. Now test across the switch. Should give you some sort of reading( the reading is irrelevant, just need one) if no reading(open) crank the vehicle and turn the ac on. Now check each wire and see if you are gettimg voltage. If only one side is you are low/empty on refrigerant.

I'm shocked it hasn't been pointed out yet--but are you low on refrigerant? If it gets too low it will shut off. You can pull the plug for the low pressure sensor and jump it with a paper clip. If the A/C clicks on, you likely need a recharge or (less likely) need a new low pressure switch.

I actually did point it out, i recommended him checking his low pressure switch and explained he could be low/empty on refrigerant.
