Default A/C - Alternator question
91 laredo. When i turn on the a/c the first time and drive off, the alternator screams and the voltmeter drops way off. I turn it off and turn it back on again and it works fine. The a/c kicks **** btw. Instant cold. Is this an alternator issue? I would assume so but it runs at 14 amps forever all the time based on the dashboard gauge. Except for the first time i turn on the a/c.

Could be the clutch on the compressor it could be out and when u turn a/c on it binds up. Just my opinion.
