After taking my 98xj for its first road trip since my purchase I had the ac on which blows super cold but it wouldn't stay on any one setting for where it comes.out at. Sometimes it would be on my feet then all of a sudden it would be blowing at my face then the floor or wind sheild. What is going on?? Plz help.

The vents are vacuum controlled.....possible vacuum leak. Start looking behind the front bumper at the vacuum canister and proceed from there.

My '99 has that problem as well and has for years. If I pull a grade manifold vacuum decreases and heat or AC no longer comes out center vents. On level ground or down hill it works fine. Just today I checked for vacuum leaks and the accumulator in the bumper, all were fine.
Next I'll have to check the vent flaps which might be more difficult.
