burning smell

I have a burning smell coming from my front drivers side wheel well and have no idea what it is. I don't think its the engine cuz I have run my engine with the hood up and sniffed around for a couple minutes and nothing. Could it be my brakes? They do squeal like a pig. Oh and it smells like burning rubber. Thanks.

sounds like a sticking caliper. after you drive it you can put your hand near the wheel. if its really hot you got a sticking caliper

I will do that tomorrow and let yea know, thanks for the help. Is that a tough fix?

not really a hard fix could be the slide pins siezed (most likely) easy fix pull pins clean with wire brush grease reinstall. Or the piston could be siezed, would need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Well when I got to work, I put my hand to the wheel and it was really cold, but I didn't have to drive far and I didn't notice the smell either. So the next time I do smell it I'll try to see if its hot or not

Ok well the caliper and rotor don't seem to be much hotter then the other side, and the jeep doesn't pull to one side when I let go of the wheel, any other idea of what it could be?
