Bunch of play in my steering column

Hey guys I have a 1988 Mj and It has tilt wheel. My stering will shakes all around. Its really loose and has about 1 inch or so of play in the column its self. What could be wrong?

jbsjunk 05-04-2012 07:32 PM

Common. The bolts holding the tilt in place worked loose. There is a write up here someplace about fixing this. Need time and a few special tools to do it.

Could anyone point me in the direction of the write up?

LOL Stupid pins. I drove Tek screws into them and yanked em out with vise grips. I have no patience.
