Bumpers
I'm a welder/fabricator, but not the most creative when it comes to bumper. I saw one on e-bay that was right up my alley, but before I could note any details the seller disapeared. I like simple with style and durability. I'm hoping a few of you guys may be willing to share some pics or plans.
Thanks

Do you hear banjos?
I am in the middle of a build right now that I think are going to be nice. I will get some pics of my progress and post them. All I have done at this point is the cutting of the front one. My plan is to use 2X5X3/16" rectangle tubing. I am tapering the ends from 5" to 1.5" at the end. I also cut reliefs in the back to bend the ends back to match the lines on the front of the rig. I'll try to remember to take my camara to work tomorrow and get some pics. LATER!!

If I could weld this is what I would get.
That site has a pretty nice winch bumper kit. Might not be what your looking for but atleast might give you an idea.

Here's some pics of my bumper build it's pretty self explanatory. If you have any questions just ask...
It's all 3/16 and 2x2 box tubing. After it was all welded I added 1/2 to the side of the 3/16 to make the shackle mounts 3/4 so a 3/4 shackle would fit.

Thanks, we just like to build stuff. I've built six dirt track race cars, then we got into these.
built 3 of them then got bored, now were in the process of building some half scale late model dirt cars that are powered by 15hp honda motors. We got 1 cage done and I'll get some pics as as soon as it starts looking like something. I'm not any help in the tech forum but I usually can add alittle when it comes to fabbing. Hey Kyle, maybe we should start a fab section....

I built mine but have no real plans just kept refining until I got what I wanted.
The front is made of a section of 6"Channel iron with 1/4" plate for the winch box and the frame rails. The flat upper deck is made of 3/16" diamondplate. The tow hook plates are 3/4" made from 3 sandwiched plates of 1/4" plate steel. Ask any questions you like.
I thought I had pics of the rear but can't find them. It is 4"x6" box heavy walled tube with a 2" reciever in the center and again 3 plates sandwiched together for tow hook plates. The ends are boxed to blend to the body lines.
