Default Budget 3" lift?

I want to get a 3" lift to replace the current (almost 20 y/o) 2" lift I have on mine, and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to do this for under $500? I'm on a pretty tight budget as is.

New hd spring packs from quadratec and a shackle should run you around 250.... 3" coils run around another 200 and grab some used jk shocks for less than 100... Puts you around 550. Or get a 3 rough country with an aal for 510...

here is a link to the rough country site and 510 bucks is way to much to pay for an aal kit.

i would go with full leaf packs but if your doing it on a budget and dont have the cash now an aal kit will be ok for a while. hth

ok but he posted up a procomp kit for $525 that was ALSO an AAL kit. only thing it has extra were control arms- which are probably junk.

hubbazoot, do yourself a favor and go on naxja.org and pm jason with rough country. great guy and will set you up with whatever you need at a great price.. you could always go the route i did.. get yourself 3" RC coils, full leaf packs and tcase drop for $310, and buy some jk shocks for $100 or so or some bilsteins for $250 shipped. that will keep you in the $550 range AND you get full leaf packs

Yeah definitely contact Jason at Rough Country...Also look at their series 2 3" lift setup..It comes with new control arms. Also get new leaf packs do not get an add a leaf setup. It will not last long enough to make the savings worth while.

you wont necessarily need control arms with 3"... their nice to have but your stockers will do if you want to save some coin.

Hubbazoot

I had that ProComp - ProJunk kit. DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

That kit is pure JUNK.
The ride went to crap, highway was hard to handle, the dang thing is not built correctly, as it caused me to have a bad pull to the right, that did not exist stock, or with my current long arm kit. DEATH WOBBLE was scarry as hell - hit a bump at hw speeds, and the wobble was so bad, you had to get teh speed down to 35 - 40 to get it to stop. Standing water on the road manners... GONE!! you hit one to two inches of water at 45 and it felt as if the front end was going to fall out from under the Jeep.

Do yourself a favor, and save up you r money for a few more months and buy a good quality lift, or just stay stock. That ProComp (junk) kit nearly got me killed on more than one occasion. Since I have installed my new kit, the jeep is a dream to drive, the HW manners are now better than they were stock.

Sorry for the rant, but this site is for sharing experiences right?
