Brush Guard for 1996 XJ?

Do you guys think that this would fit on my 1996 XJ, he said he had it on a 2000 Grand Cherokee, but didn't know if this would fit.

Grand Cherokees & other trucks very rarely work on a Jeep XJ without modification
you can check by measuring the length and width and height of the brush and then measuring against your jeep
and also making sure you check the measurements of the mounting points vs where your frame rails / mounting area would be

modification usually involves cutting it up to fit and re-welding it
not too many people's weld job i trust to hold up to the original strength of a uncut brush/grill guard

best bet - just buy one known to work with a XJ
ive seen em go for as cheap as $60 on CL and as expensive as $1000 new online

one im looking at is about $350 shipped
