Most accurate area to test temp laser gun
I get temps around 210 on the thermostat housing when my dash gauge reads 222 at idle. It reads 250 on the engine near where the thermo housing connects....just one inch from where it read 210. Is the thermo housing the most accurate place to check?
Thanks!

Emissivity will mess with a laser temp gun. Just make sure where you're taking the reading is flat black or dull. Shiny surfaces won't read correctly.
Also, Keep in mind the size of the spot versus the distance you're measuring from. The farther away you get the larger the area that is being averaged.
