Braking problems
 

I first noticed it was taking a bit longer to stop but nothing TOO serious and now it just doesn't stop. It glides to a stop. The front brakes were perfectly fine and I havnt checked the rear drums yet, but I feel it would still sort of atleast stop even if they were low. When I press on the brake it almost sounds like an air leak from the pedal, the cylinder is full and the fluid doesnt look bad. But, I noticed one brake lines looks like the previous owner tampered with it so, Im not sure if i need to replace my master cylinder or just bleed it perhaps. I know its kind of a hard thing to diagnose without driving it but I just thought i would take the chance before i take it in and pay a **** load of money for something i may be able to do

Rear brakes were adjusted last when ?

I haven't touched them since I got the car a year ago. And knowing how it was taken care of before me.... who knows -___-

Ok then remove drums and inspect time ,if alls good put it back together and adjust them . would be where id start seeing nothing has been done in the year youve had it...

So, I should just take them off and make sure its all greased and clean in there? Would that cause the pedal sound and the pedal being a little loose and having to be held to the floor to glide to a stop?

Rear brakes is what keeps pedal up high ,them being adjusted properly brake pedal should be high im going byyou stating pedal has gotten lower over time .You dont gease brakes by the way you can spray brake clean to clean every thing off.

Alight, Gotcha', Ill go and see whats going on under there and see if its anything I can do

If it has progressively gotten worse and you are hearing a hissing sound, i would say your brake booster is toasted. A leaking booster will kill your braking capabilities. Start with that.
