Brake squeal
 

My driver front disk squeals as I drive down the road and Sounds like it’s grinding and dragging as I come to a stop.It does not do this in reverse or if I turn to the right I replaced the caliper the brakes, my rotor isn’t warped I’m wondering is it the proportioning valve or the brake master itself Or am I overlooking something simple I cannot stand to drive down the road with a great looking jeep making that type of noise when I turn to the left.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the knuckles where the brake pads slide. How does that area look? Tops and bottoms.

The brake pad tabs will wear down those areas over time as you brake. They will eventually dig into the knuckle and movement will be severely restricted

Filing it or grinding it will not fix the problem. It needs to be welded then made flush so the brake pads slide as they are meant to.

Chances are the brake pads are worn unevenly and they will not stop squealing. Mine squealed very loudly so I fixed the grooves. They still squealed just as loud as before so I replaced the brake pads and it's been quiet ever since

Hub bearing worn on that side?

I've never understood why people say filing or grinding won't work. You're looking for flat metal, whether it's welded flat or ground flat, right? I filed mine flat about 5 years ago, and it's been great ever since.

Also, if the pads wear funny from being stuck on the knuckle, you can try swapping them to the other wheel. That should help them wear back to being even again.

if they arent worn badly it can work. Every one I have ever seen was worn so deep the pads had hardly any movement
