Brake issue 88 jeep with 90 something calipers
Hi I recently swapped a axle from a 90 something jeep and got everything in but I'm having issues with braking, I have the stock 88 mc and booster but the calipers are different on the new axle, my question is could it be that I need the newer style mc and brake booster? The newer calipers also had abs could this be a problem as well? Thanks for any input

Shouldn't be an issue.

The slight differences in the calipers from the '88 and '90+ model years is negligible. If it stopped fine before, then it should behave the same with the different axle, IF you have them installed correctly, AND the calipers, pads and rotors are in good, working order with no defects, clogs, abnormal wear, etc. The upgrade to the later MC relates to increasing the MC bore diameter size from 15/16" to 1". So, IF you did the upgrade, any braking benefit in addition to what you experience with your stock MC would be the same regardless of whether you use the '88 or '90 calipers.
So, no, upgrading won't solve the problem you are experiencing.
