Wheres the vacuum line that goes to it? My buddy has an '01 and he has a half inch vac line running from his intake manifold to his brake booster.
I ask cause Ive read on here that alot of vac leaks on cherokees come the vac line on the brake booster.

You don't have one.
You've got the worst ABS system on the planet....seriously.
My son's 91 Briarwood had the same system and we pipped that POS out. Get down to your local JY and grab a booster, mastercylinder, brakelines and pedal from a 97+ XJ/ZJ and replace the ABS system.

That looks to be an accumulator type deal that I see there, does this have an electric motor to create the brake pressure (such as in a Teves system)?

Yes, as long as you grab the aluminum spacer that's behind the booster.
The peddle linkage is what can throw a curveball. Most people snag the brake peddle assy and swap it as well. I did it the hard way by relocating the pin on my 97 when I upgraded my booster. For my son's heep we used a 97 XJ booster and it was a bolt-in upgrade.
