Bought a Sitting Cherokee, New Battery, Turned Over but Shaking and
So short story is that i bought this used 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 4x4 Sport with 199,000 miles. It wasnt running (for 8 months) and after i got it home it was looking like the engine was seized but to my surprise after putting a new battery in and clicking it over a few time the engine LIVED!
But when it turned over it makes a loud clacking noise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOUC...ature=youtu.be) along with the whole vehicle shaking (which gets worse when its put into drive). Im not sure what it is or if this is a common issue? Hoping this is a know issue?? Please help, but other than that it turns over fine. But when it turns out there a sort of draining sound? I checked the oil and its pretty black. Is it a simple oil change issue or maybe stuck lifters?

It does sound like a lifter is bad , would change the oil and filter and add a additive that will help clean the lifters . then let it run so it can get to running temp.

Ya thats bad. First thing I would do it pop the valve cover off and do a visual inspection followed by checking all the rockers for up and down play. By the speed of the sound, it sounds like a lifter or two are stuck down. Doesnt come off as a spun bearing noise to me. And definately change the oil.
