Has anyone every installed a bosch fuel pump? I bought one for my '91 and im having trouble getting it to fit, its about an inch shorter than the original. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do?

 

I had this same issue last night. Mine was a Carter brand pump and just like yours it was shorter.
Have you tried installing it yet? Mine didn't fall into place like an original one but it did work out.
The only issue I had was that the hose seemed a bit short.

 

i have tried installing mine but the top clamp on the fuel pump does not come down far enough to hold the top

 

Mine didnt go down enough to secure directly to the pump. I had to twist the pump just right to get the supply hose to sit in the V of the hold down. I really feel like I got the wrong pump but it was late and I wanted it done so I made it work and I felt comfortable with it so I ran it.

I would go back to the parts store with the old pump to see if they can match it, if you have the time. If not, just make it work. Keep your reciept in case it goes out though! Ive had a pump last 3 months on my K5, took it back without the receipt and ended up dropping another 100 on a new pump
