Default Bosch 69302 Fuel Pump / '89 XJ

I just noticed that the Bosch fuel pump purchased for an '89 XJ looks completely different than the one I pulled. The wiring is different, it's smaller, etc... I've searched and searched for info on this and know some of you were able to make it work. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need an adapter to connect to the three prong? Thanks!

Figured it out for the most part. Just need to know if I can safely splice these somehow??

Cut off the ring terminals and crimp on spade terminals.

Thank you Cruiser. Always appreciate it. Probably seems like a stupid question to many. I just fished out two strainers from the tank but I'll be damned if I'm going to find that rubber cap. Not looking like that's going to happen (if it's even in there). In a weird/sick XJ way, it's kind of cool to find the old strainers, possibly indicative!

Can I put it in w/o that rubber cap? Will post some pics of the final bosch 69302 replacement if anyone's interested.

Also, if the strainer seems like it's just going to fall off anyway, can you just use electrical tape to secure?

it might be noisy without the rubber buffer. and, electrical tape will not live long in gasoline.

Well it took me a few days but I was able to fish out the buffer. I'm a little too excited about that right now!
