bump.
What is the best size i should go? says he can bore it safely to 64mm. i was just planning on going to 63mm. any suggestions?

no reason to go bigger than 61 or 62.. the intake manifold opening will bottleneck you. mines a 63.

its the same price no matter what bore size, i figured might as well go with the 63. why did u go with the 63?

mine is 63mm and i have a 99+ intake manifold...no restriction from Intake with 63.

would there be restriction from the Intake if i bored it to 64?

probably not but if there is a dremel will make quick work out of it.

So this is something I am considering aswell, how much of a difference do you notice? any affect on MPG? and total cost is around 90? after returning a t body core?

tannerp89 03-29-2010 01:50 PM

total cost from thefastman.com is $130 after you return the core, but its worth it. he replaces the shaft with a custom stainless shaft and replaces the blade with a new feathered edge blade. he also smoothes the sensor ports on the TB to prevent whistling and installs a new throttle cable spring. i noticed better throttle response and about 2-3 MPG better after i installed mine...

Troth 03-29-2010 05:19 PM

wow that sounds worth it! especially since I have a cold air intake

93XJLI 03-29-2010 05:51 PM

i didnt get any MPG... but theres a very noticeable increase in throttle response

Metlic53 03-29-2010 11:36 PM

would it be better to have a bored throttle body on the 97 intake manifold or a bored TB on the 99+ intake Mani?
