Blower Resistor
I was wondering if someone could put a multimeter on the actual resistor itself and post how many OHMS it is. Mine keeps blowing because the blower motor is drawing too many amps I think. This would be a great help for a temporary fix until I can replace the blower motor too.

Sorry riverguide I don't have that info but if you have a shop vac and a leaf blower you might be able to free up the crud in your blower motor.

Fix the motor, either clean it out or replace it.
There are a lot of threads about problems with fans, resistors, and switches.
Even some about XJ's catching on fire because of them.
My advice .... replace all three components with NEW parts.
