Blinkers stopped...
Hey all - new to the board, though I am a regular at the Jeep Wrangler Forum.
My 1999 Cherokee blinkers stopped. For a few weeks, they would come on when I hit the stick, but then they would stop after about 4-5 seconds. Now, when I hit the stick, they don't come on at all. The hazards work and all four lights blink when the hazards are on, but the blinkers don't come on at all. No clicking, nothing. Am I changing the relay first? Does it even have a seperate relay for the blinkers? Thanks for any/all help - |
Do your hazards work?
I had this same problem when I bought my 99. I looked into replacing the flasher, then pulled every fuse I could find, and somebody even told me to just replace the whole turn signal...stalk and all. Wound up trying to find the flasher under the steering wheel up next to the firewall....since my hazards worked, I could locate the "clicking" sound...once I found it an wiggled the flasher itself, the signals have worked since. Must have been a minor short. |
Don't forget to add your blinker fluid

Yeah, running about a quart low in blinker fluid will cause that every time. Fill er up......oh, and it sounds like your flasher is dying to me.

Also, may want to check fuses as well. |
Actually, the blinker fluid is fine... looked a little blue, though. I thought is was supposed to be orange?

Your turn signal switch which I assume is the stick, could be soaked in the stuff which is no good so it could be dieing. Its most likely not your flasher unit since its working for your hazards.:head:
