blah! wrong parts!

ok so i went down to autozone to get new inj o-rings, they give methese tiny skinny ones that i know wont work, but just take them home to compair them, and they wont work so i return the o-rings and now im in a dilema, cause every parts store calls for these skinny things they call o-rings, and i tell them its wrong, so wut do i do?

mudallday 12-30-2008 12:51 PM

bring the old ones with you to show them. that what i would do

matejcekautoworks 12-30-2008 01:00 PM

good idea, just suprising that all the coputers are wrong, or somthings wrong, idk

BuckB91XJ 12-30-2008 01:00 PM

Bring an old one as an example and go to Napa. That's the only parts store in my town where the counter guys are smarter than just being able to look a part up on a computer.

I usually end up running through different years on their computers till I find the part I need. :) Try a different year.

go to any parts store that carries Felpor gaskets, advanced auto parts has them and ask for felpro part number ES70599, it comes 4 injector O-rings in a kit and they are the nice thick ones. hope this helps

matejcekautoworks 01-04-2009 01:54 PM

thanx guys, finally got the ones i needed, got the fel-pro ones too, the o-rings were great, but the fuel rail got tweaked some how, so i went to the junk yard and got a rail off a 93 ZJ, works perfectly, no im just trying to get her to start, so tonight im checking for spark and voltage out of the coil, and hopefully those are good, but she'll turn over and sounds like she wants to start, but just wont lol, any ideas? thx guys

BuckB91XJ 01-04-2009 01:58 PM

Check for spark at one of the plugs. If it isn't getting all the way there, it won't start.

matejcekautoworks 01-05-2009 05:12 PM

ok, no spark, where do i go from here? im gonna make sure i have good ground at the coil tonightm and if thats good, im lost

jpdocdave 01-05-2009 05:17 PM

check spark out of coil, if good, problem is after coil ie: cap rotor wires. if no spark at coil, check power and ground at coil.

also possible crank sensor or bad distributor. coils are fairly common to go bad.

also check the basics first, fuses and relays.
