Binding while braking.

New to the forum, and have found tons of info through searching but have not come up with anything on this particular issue. Under heavy braking and braking over bumps I have a binding/grinding sound coming from what seems to be the front end. Light braking and normal driving its quiet and normal. I have replaced the following: both hub/bearing assemblies, both axle u-joints, both rotors and ceramic pads. After further inspection I realized the steering knuckle is worn down were the brake pads slide back and forth. Would this cause the noise I am experiencing? Thanks for any info.

bump, I think I have the same problem... squeaking/grinding quiets for a second when I turn the wheel in either direction, then starts again.

Same issue and I have ceramic pads too. Found a small pit on the passenger side knuckle, inboard pad, upper slide. I think it prevents proper return of the pad/piston after lifting off brake pedal, hence I get occasional squeal and the sensation of dragging a brake. Now I'm curious if I caused this because I sometimes "brake dance", where you repeatedly bop your brake pedal to the rhythm of the music making the whole Jeep dance, and I think it hammered the pit into the slide...

I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder to smooth out the low spots on my knuckles/pad slide area.
westvalleyxj I am not sure it that will help your issue but it may, the pads might get stuck in the pit/slot and contact the rotor unevenly.

gspaceunit, you may need to install anti-rattle clips if the noise goes away when you lightly press the brake pedal.

Thanks for the replies, but I put my lift on and and it went away. Now on to other problems that I must move on too. Thanks again.
