Default Best riding suspension for 235/75 tyres?

I'm not sure where to go next!
I've got a stock jeep on 235/75/15 General Grabbers, I want to replace the springs and shocks because it rides like a pogo stick now with the original suspension at 130,000 miles.

I've got new tyres, I don't need bigger ones because I don't have anything extreme to cover. I just want decent traction on muddy fields and lanes when I'm out shooting.

I've priced up a 1.5" lift from Old Man Emu, which looks like it would be ideal for a nice plush ride but ideally I'd like to stay at stock height but get a better ride. If I'm going to replace all the shocks and springs, I want to upgrade - but are there any options at stock height/tiny lift? I can't see any point in raising my CoG for no reason.

Hope that makes sense!

a direct stock replacement with quality shocks would probably be your best bet if you aren't looking for any lift. If you do decide to lift, the OME or RE kits are both really good and tons of people running them.

If you bent on staying stock height then get HD stock replacements and stock coils. Plus a good set of shocks and you're golden. If you were sagging before you Will get a solid stance from the new springs.

If you wanna lift id say does OME for a small lift.

Thanks for the replies!
I'm not _against_ a lift - but I'd want it to be subtle. I'm hoping to end up with an XJ that doesn't lose any on-road performance/mileage/handling while having a bit more comfort on and off road. If the OME lift can do that, I'm all up for it. If I'll end up regretting it because it rolls in corners or I look like my tyres belong on a mini then, not so much. I'm exploring my options because I'm definitely getting 4 new springs and shocks, but I'll only be doing it once.

I'd really like to go and test drive one, but that isn't going to happen round here!

IMO, a small lift will make such a negligible difference to ride quality that it's barely noticeable. That's just me though. If you already have the tires and don't plan on wheeling then stock might be best for you.

Also, a once lifted, the spring rate is changed and that'll change ride quality as well. If you dont go wheel well deep in mud and water then stay stock. If you go through deep mud and water then its different

Whatever else you do, don't replace the springs 'till AFTER you replace the shocks. I've had a couple of cars I swore had bad/torched springs, both turned out to be bad shocks, and a set of new Bilsteins cured the problem.

Then a set of Goodyear Wrangler S/A and you're good to go..

I'm not an authority. Just posted about my 96 Country. I discovered that I have the Up-Country package with gas shocks (reportedly Bilsteins), and the ride is better than any other Cherokees with 150K+. So I would suggest Bilsteins maybe KYBs, or other gas shocks.

Apparently the bilsteins with the upcountry are special bilsteins that can only be gotten from the dealer. That's hearsay to me from stories.

KYB's are nice as are Bilsteins. Most good modern suspension kits won't have excessive body roll unless they are big lifts meant for mostly off-road use. Smaller lifts and the OME brand are nice and stable, but not harsh-riding.
