Best Injectors/fuel rail
 

Got a 98 4.0 Been trying to find a good replacement for my stock injectors and fuel rail. Jeep has trouble starting if it hasn't been running in the past half hour or so, battery is new and connections are clean and firm and cold starts fine after cycling the ignition leading me to believe there is an issue with my injectors. As far as I can tell they are stock from the factory and I want to replace my fuel rail while I'm at it cause it looks like it's about to snap in half of I lay a finger on it.

All I can find is debates on 1 hole vs 4 hole vs 12 hole. The only 4 hole injectors I can find are remanufactured and cost upwards of $140 after tax and shipping (Precision Auto, KSuspension and the eBay "Bosch" remans) and from what I've read 4.0s arent really optimized to benefit from better fuel atomization so I was looking at OEM style non reman injectors. I found a set of Dormans one hole on Rock Auto for around $190 for all 6, theres TRQ brand on 1A Auto for $130. I saw mad hornets for $80.

Any one used any of these brands? What about fuel rails? I found one from Crown Automotive for around $200 and I also see billet aluminum ones on eBay for $120-$140. Anyone have any luck with those?

Sounds like you're assuming you need new injectors and rail because it's hard to start after it sits.
​while it's possible you're right, before you throw a bunch of money at it why don't you put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if in fact the pressure is leaking down in a half hour

And then after it's been sitting for a while and you know the issue would normally occur, turn key on for 4 seconds and off twice, then try to start on third time.

And don't buy the first regulator you see. I need to do the job again after 4 months (although will be much easier this time with new J-bolts).

I Was gonna start there because like I said as far as I can tell, the injectors and fuel rail are stock or atleast they look stock. It has 180k on it so those are coming anyways regardless of whether it will solve the issue or not. If they don't fix the issue, I'll look into measuring the pressure.

Well that's the choice. Drop the gas tank and switch out the regulator (may need new J-bolts and straps) or hit the key twice.

IIWY I'd make sure there was a fitting to test fuel pressure. Some of the aftermarket ones don't have them.
