Thumbs up Best Auxilary Fan setup for big lifted 2000 Cherokee?

Unfortunately I am having a problem with my Cherokee.

I noticed the fan shroud on the bottom of the passenger side was broken at the bottom, which is some of the cause of my heat issues but...

Today I drove about 40 minutes on the freeway. When I turned the car off after coming into the complex, the fan on my radiator never stays running to cool my car down. It just turns off, and today my car heated up past 210 in the 5 minutes I left it in the parking lot. I parked it went into my bank came out and started it and it ran rough...and I noticed the heat was almost at the next notch past 210. It smoothed out as I started driving and things got closer to normal, but it was alarming!

So I was thinking... auxilary fans I can wire to a switch I already have?
Then I can run them when I turn the car off or even in the summer while its running for extra cooling.

Was also looking at hood vents...what are some of the things you guys have done to keep your xj's cool??

It's not even hot out yet!! haha so I have to be prepared

Google Turbo timer with fan mod.
Or use a thermo switch.

If your cooling system isn't working then there's a problem that needs fixed. It should have no issue cooling a stock setup.

sounds like heat soak issue with the rough running and have you checked the clutch fan for proper function regarding the warm temp?

Yes It is heatsoak your rough idle after you shut it down and restart. You can get some plug wire boot insulation and wrap your injectors(it helps),also get the heat sheild from the dealer for your jeep under 10 bucks (helps some). Finally yes you can wire your fan to a switch .On 2000-01 xj the fan will only come on at a temp of 215-218(iirc) it wont run even with the a/c on.But you can have the dealer flash your box so the fan will work when you turn a/c on.Maybe use an aftermarket fan switch to have the fankick on and off automatically.Your heatsoak will sometime in the future cause yourcel to come on and say cyl. missfire, the heatsoak is just basic vaporlock on the injector, just so you know.
