Bent Drive Shaft Sleeve where U Joint Goes In

Hey guys,

As the title indicates, I believe that I bent the bottom sleeve (opposite the double cardan joint / where the u-joint connects the drive shaft to the pinion yoke) when I was trying to replace my drive shaft u joints.

I am running 2 stock Dana 30 drive shafts with HnT SYE. I wanted to change the u-joints before putting it back in the front, and this happened.

Is there any way I can repair it? Or do I need to buy a new one?

Also, I lost the spring that goes in the centering joint. Anyone know where I can get just the spring? Rather than spending 40 bucks on the whole joint... Or should I just replace the whole mess while I'm at it?

Thanks!

Depending on how much you can get another front driveshaft and it's in better working order then yours is. New u joints run about 45 bucks the centering ball rebuild kit or replacement piece runs about 45 thru 85 bucks. Plus if the shaft where the centering ball sits I'd messed up that can cost more. If it was me I'd go get another driveshaft from the wrecking yard.
