belt tightness
I replaced the serp belt on my 2000 4.0 and when i took the old one off i had to really loosen the tensioner to get it off, and when i put the new one on i thought i had it tight enough but it still squeeled like a steam valve when a/c compressor was on so i tightened it some more and it got a little better but still does it at first should i tighten it some more? i dont want to over tighten but dang how tight is it supposed to be?

Snug it just past where it doesn't squeal when engaging the a/c. A new belt will stretch a little.......so if it squeals later on it may need another 1/2 turn or so. Just past squealing is just right.
