Default Belt slipping

So I have a problem with my belt slipping. It's only happened three times, but each of those times, I was going through a sizeable puddle. I wasn't going fast, but I wasn't going slow either. I've been able to get it back on all three times without any problems until the next time I go through a puddle. And I'm pretty sure it's tight enough. Going to fix it again tonight, and I would like that to be the last time, any ideas what's going on?

Could be the belt, the tension, or a bad pulley. Or both. Remove the belt and check the pullies for wobble as that will pull the belt out of alignment. The balancer is a big one. If/when that goes bad, the outer hub can walk back into the timing cover. If the balancers rubber ring is cracked or pushed out front or back, replace it. And the belt needs to pretty dang tight with an XJ. Buy yourself a Krikit II belt tension gauge, from Gates. Part #91132. Used belts are 140-160ft-lbs. New belts should be between 180-200 ft-lbs.
