Bed lining tomorow

Well, I finally got to finish my floor board patch/cut job (rust) this evening and will be bed lining tomorow. I have the stuff, along with rustoleum primer, should I apply the primer and then rough it up for the bed liner? The cherokee is bare metal inside:icon_sad: and hate it:icon_cheesygrin:
Thanks.

do you have any pics of the process? i plan on doing this to my jeep sometime in the next couple months, once it gets warmer out.

What brand bedliner are you using? I think the herculiner can be applied without a primer on bare metal as long as the surface is roughed up.

most bedliner can be applied to bare metal as long as you scruff it up. i would primer it first just to seal the fresh metal.

Pics will be up in 1 day or so... Sorry for the late reply my internet is running like @zz:furious:.... How is wisconsin treating you? Was just there last month about 2 feet of snow in milwakuee when I was there.

I'm using the rustoleum bed liner. I didn't want to go herculiner (a fine product) but wanted the smoother finish of rustoulm (roll on)

PREP PREP PREP PREP PREP PREP PREP PREP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats all.

I did mine like a year ago, with herculiner, and I thought I preped it pretty well (I used an orbital sander), but now its starting to come off in some areas..... But then again, it started raining shortly after I put the last coat on, and water got under it and bubbled a few areas.

to all, thanks yeah in the summer the jeep will be getting painted either yellow or blue with a white stripe, leaning most towards the blue and strip, the herc chips. and the stang couldnt move that day because it couldnt get out because of all the snow so the jeep was the driver that day. pulled like 8 people out that day and thats only trucks, i dont pull out cars for liability reasons.

and yes prep is the total key. ill be spending like 4 days just prepping my jeep for painting. you will thank yourself in the long run.

oh yeah, and dont do it when its cold and you have to drive it. it ****s you up haha..ask me how i know. you will get pulled out of class and ask if you are under the inflence of anything.
