Hey I get this annoying noise most of the time. It happens when I stop and then go like at a stop sign. The noise sounds like it's coming from tranny or transfer case.

where does it sound like it's coming from? Sounds kind of like a squeaky bearing?

There are two U-joints right there, so that may be the noise. Get underneath and give your driveshafts a wiggle to look for play.

Cheap parts, but a bit of a pain to change, if that is your problem.

Yep, this is where I'd start the investigation.

Is the noise a thudding noise? If so mine does it as well and I have hound that people say you just need to grease up your slip yoke. Havent tried fixing the problem my self yet but it should fix it if thats your problem.

Well the exhaust seems tight when I shake it other than my cat rattling. The front driveshaft has play in it when I turn it back and forth but not when I try to slide it. Rubber transmission mount is pretty worn and the engine mounts are crap. Maybe I can start there with some brown dog mounts.

Can anyone tell me why replacing worn motor mounts make the jeep vibrate more? Seem to be what I read anyway.

Stock, no.

Brown Dog rubber, little bit til they break in.

Poly mounts, noticeable vibes.

I always put the mounts in ALMOST tight on all nuts and bolts, start the engine and rev it up a few times and then shut it off and tighten the fasteners properly.
