Default Day 3 fuel pump install fail

Ok I give....

What is the deal here?

I have a fuel pump that is an Airtex model E7006 pump Manufacturing date 254 which is bad.

I also have what appears to be an aftermarket bracket? The plastic pieces are in the bottom of the tank right now

I ordered a "Delphi" model which is actually a Walbro pump model 5CA213. I have tried to mate the Walbro pump to the bracket but it flops around, the hose kind of holds it in, but there is no way to clamp it in securely to the bracket. The other pump that is failed mates up and is held in by the bracket and another at the top however the instruction claim that this is not necessary. The Wlabro flops around on this bracket, dosn't seem right. I am assured that this is "The Model for my Jeep". Even with the hose clamped in the pum can still shake out of the bracket as there is nothing to clamp it. The upper bracket also doesn't fit and there are no adapters.

Is the bracket incorrect, am I getting the wrong model pump?

Seems that there is something wrong here which the parts to not mate up, there is no way hat this pump is secured to this bracket... Held in by magic force?

Seriously though, do I need to get another hanger assy, missing something obvious here for this assembly?

Auto parts store sub rant:
I orderd from my local auto parts store because I though it would be done in an afternoon. Its not in stock but they have it in the morning quickly so no problem. Drive over to get it after work and I get the first pump and it doesn't fit well but it stays in place. New pump runs for 15 min and cuts out intermittently. Test with a meter and its getting power and can suck fuel no problem (car is stationary, and the collector and strainer are submerged.) So I go back check to make sure that its the correct pump and try to return it. Says that they won't take it back because there is no strainer. Well I can drive 20 minutes here and 20 minutes back to get it. Well its not on the receipt, so we can't warranty the pump, I said that the description is for a Pump and strainer. He agrees to exchange it. Fine Go back this one has more parts in the box but is not the right size. Fantastic, asked another store closer to where my jeep is if they could order up the hanger assembly, sure. Takes my number and calls to say that its in stock. Go over to exchange the hanger and the pump and they said, oh we actually never ordered that part for you, you need to pay first and then order it. WTF? Fine give me a refund for the pump. Nope not in our system you have to take it back to the original store. Seriously? Those people have been less than worthless. Didn't order the part I requested, and didn't want to exchange or honor their warranty with out a hassle. Now I am going to have to try to just get a refund tomorrow at the original store.

Lost my business, they have been extremely aggravating. Should be done.

Multi threads on the same problem won't help. Just clusters up the forum.

Sounds like the tricks Autochina does.

Get your money back, then get the right entire assembly from the Jeep dealer. They are much better quality and will last longer.

Dealer prices are often very competitive with real parts stores like NAPA but higher than the junk stores like Autochina or that ilk. They cannot compete with trash.

Save the junk stores for decorative dolls and fu fu.

I hope I can get a refund. Yea dealer sounds like a good option. Replace the entire assembly.

I did take it back for a refund and I purchased a good quality Bosch pump and OE hanger assembly instead. Came in the same day. I'd have to say the price was pretty close to the others, I was trying to get an OE pump anyway. Got it installed and it works good so far. Quiet, smooth and I can corner with out stalling out.

Hooray!

It was extremely helpful to know that the bracket was an after market. Seems like some have different sizes for the hanger assembly. I don't know why... Mind boggling. I am used to bikes, where if it ships, it fits if your looking in the right model.

Now I have to choose Bike or new Jeep.....
