Bad T Case. Can I swop with 2 wd driveshaft?

Can I just remove my bad T- case for a longer 2wd driveshaft. This is my daily driver and Ill have to rebuild the t-case.(big clunks, especially under load) Need a quick temporary cheap fix. 1996 Automatic 4wd police package. Ill get the T-case type tomorrow. Sounds too easy to actually work.

Nope. Need a 2WD trans to do that. Get another TC from Junk yard.

yes you can you will need the center shaft from a 2wd tranny you have to take your 4wd trans apart and install it and use the tail shaft from the 2wd tranny on the 4wd tranny

$At the local u-pull-it: 125 plus $20 for the core for a transfer case. $80 + $20 core for the trans and if you take a part off like the tail shaft, they charge you for the whole thing and another $15 for the driveshaft. I would grab another transfer case rather than spending the money to go 2WD unless that is wherre yoou want to be.
