1998 4.0L xj. So this happened while I was driving, but symptoms are: when doors and trunk closed, windows don't work and engine revs dip way down, if I then press the brake pedal the engine stalls. If all doors and trunk are open, all windows work but slow and I can press the brake pedal with nothing wrong. When I shut just one door the lights dim.

I have taken the major grounds apart and cleaned them, but no luck. Where do the door wires go? Thanks for any help.

Just got the cel read and it came back p0700 which is a transmission error that can only be read by transmission shops that have a special code reader. Anyone have any ideas or should I farm this one out?

Fixed it yall!!!! One of the grounds in the trunk on the drivers side was lose so I tightened it and everything was good to go!! Damn that one little wire sent the whole thing for a loop.

no special reader is necessary it just has to be more advanced than what you and me are willing to pay. something like the snap on solus is over 5k when its said and done. but thats the common work horse in most shops. take future trans faults to your trusted mechanic before going to trans shop.... unless your trusted mechanic works at a trans shop... but kudos on the find ill have to keep an eye out for that in the future.
