Hey guys, so I may have a bad alternator. My gauge keeps showing no charge to the batt, but when I shut it down and start her up again it seems to be fine. I can also push on the wires on the bottom and it will kick in again. So I have my mechanic checking the connection.
If I do need a new one is it 90 or 120 amps?

oh ya, new or rebuilt?
Thanks.

pretty much all alternators you can buy are re-manufactured. There are new ones buy they are very expensive and not worth it - reman ones have new components inside.
Doesn't sound like your alternator is bad though, sounds like the wires/connections are shot. Replace the wiring with new wires and see if you fix the problem before dropping a lot of cash on a new alternator that may not even fix the problem.
