Backfire

Ey I got a 96 Cherokee 4.0. It's backfiring engine side not exhaust. What it's got new plugs distributor and wires what could be causing this

Distributor installed out of time.

Spark plug wires not installed properly.

It didn't do this til just recently. I done the wires and distributor the same time. It spit and sputter then it'll stop and drive normal. But when I stop it'll idle up about 1200rpm and just sit there. It starts fine but it'll backfire as soon as I give it has for a min then stop
