Axle swap or spacers and lockers?
I am considering swapping my axles to a dana 44 front and a corporate 14 rear with full lockers and 4:10 gears. I want to do this for the wider base considering my lift is 7.5". I get a lot of body roll. Or should I just buy 2" spacers and detroit lockers. Tell me what you guys think.

hell yea they are worth puttin in an xj. i just picked up a full width 60 rear with a im scouting for a full width 60hp i agree with ktm on cuttin the lift down to about 5.5 to 6 inches 7.5 inches is way to tall for 33's imo i got buddies that run 5.5 to 6 with 35's i run 6 and 32's cuz its what i can afford, the full width axles are amazing just plan on doing A LOT of trimming to get the flex you want or even a dove nose and comp cut.
id rethink the 14bolt tho unless you want to run 38's+ go with a full width 9 inch and full width 44

4:10ed full widths are almost useless unless you're running dual cases or an Atlas....IMO anyways.
7.5" is a lot for 33s. I'm at 6.5" on 35s.

A Chevy full width frront axle on an XJ requires a different transfercse. That's alot more work than most people want to mess with.
A 14B rear might seem like a good idea till you actually look at one under a 4x4 and see just how massive the rear diff is. Plan on dragging it over everything.
A better option is to run a wheel with far less backspacing (I run 3.25" B.S.), proper fender trimming, and taller bumpstops to limit up travel.

X2 on the dragging. You won't be happy on the end of the strap constantly when running 31s

Back spacing. Distance between the inside bead to the mounting face of the wheel.

You can move your rear flare up about 1.5-2" and still keep the stock flare. I'm sure that will eliminate most if not all the rubbing back there. Then, you can come down in height a bit. That will make it more stable.
