Axle breather vent location

Where in the heck is the axle breather vent located on the Dana 30 in a '91 XJ? Ive looked everywhere. Did only certain models come with the vent? All I have found is a probe looking thing with wires sticking out that was threaded into the side of the pumpkin.

Comes out of the back top of the axle on the driver side. Odd that you would have wires coming out of your axle. I would investigate that and post up picks. Do you have an electric locker and do not know it? any way the vent should have a .25" rubber hose coming off it.

Its def not a locker. It looks like a temp probe of some sort

What size and type of barb fitting is used?

I have never had to replace one. To bad your not local or I would just have you stop buy and grab one out of an axle. That thing is odd Must be a temp sensor of some sort. Can't see why someone would put it in though.

thanks man! Im pretty sure its a temp or pressure probe. I just wanna know if its stock and if not why someone would go through the trouble of putting it on and why not the rear dif
