Default ax15 reverse light switch

Hey guys,
the reverse light on an ax15 out of a 95...is it a ground switch or a positive switch? ie...to wire it up (stock harness was cut), would i just run a hot lead to one side, and the ground side out to the reverse lights (which would be powered by a + wire)?

Nope rear lighting is all grounded into the body. In 1999 the reverse switch just connects power from Junction Block fuse #10 to the backup lamps, I can't imagine there'd be much difference at all on earlier models.

So it is a positive switch then? Also, my Cherokee is a 90 used to be aw4 but I swapped it, so another question...could I run the wires off the switch to the nss

Not sure what you mean by a 'positive switch', it just closes a circuit. NSS uses the same circuit but also has a line into the TCU, at least on newer models.

Should be a brown/tan wire.

what i meant by positive or negative switch was which side completed the circuit, ie if the switch was completing the circuit via the hot side or ground.

im gonna try to do it through the nss, since a switch just makes continuity...since i had to jumper the nss for the ax15 swap, i figure it still would control the reverse lights operation as if the aw4 were still in it
