ax15 cps?

Hey guys. A week or so ago I started developing a problem where jeep would start up fine but as soon as put into reverse it would die right there including gauges and all. This happened a few times a bit harder to get restarted each time. Would start in reverse only fully died when shifted after turned on. I cleaned all the grounds under the. Hood checked fuses and all seemed ok. Now when I turn the key no dash lights and no fuel pump priming. The motor will try to turn over but needs fuel. From the reverse only issue and then the dead guages I assumed cps. So I did a minor check of it cleaned the plug no luck. What really has me confused is I read when you unplug cps if it is shot or internally shorted the guages will work again with it unplugged. Tried the same method with all sensors on the other sensors on throttle body with no luck.

I'm woundering if even unplugging a bad cps wouldn't interfere with guages and fuel pump not coming on. I. Also know there is something like an nss for the cluthc but don't know if it would cause this issue? Along with the detent that you need to go through to get into reverse? Anyone had this trouble with ax15 before I'm a little lost on where to go next.

What are the codes?

No codes. Forgot to mention I also have no bus connection along with guages. Even being a 96 it has an obd1 comp. I'm just confused because lights, horn a few switches I have to relays off batt all work perfect. So it is an issue somewhere after that but I don't know much about the cps and the css(ax15's nss) and if they would disable fuel pump and dash/bus connection. I heard unplugging cps would bump the ecu intocausing it to restore its signal.

Try a new mopar CPS, it's worth a shot.

Ya I figured stranger things have happened especially seeing th e odd pattern these things give out to begin with. Have you ever hear anything with the gauge and fule pump being tied into the cps signal? I've heard it was for in the event of an accident but not sure why the guages would be in the same boat

The PCM controls it all.......

Anyone else have a similar experience? I'm still very curious of what this css really is / does. Has anyone seen this from just the cps?
