Noticed it lately but haven't had time yet to really check out anything. It has 155k on it and fluid was changed probably about 22k ago. I did check fluid and level it was good and didn't look burnt or smelled burnt. The whining is usually when hot and 1-2 gears from what I noticed today will know for sure if it's only when hot tomorrow as I'm driving it to work again. Also no weird shifting as it shifts fine and no delays. Is there a procedure for checking the pump via pressure or anything? thanks!

A hot whine in low gears often points to a worn pump or a clogged filter. A pressure test can confirm it. You'll need a special gauge to check the pressure at the transmission's test ports. With 155k miles, having a shop do this test is your best bet.
